Oakland School District seeks outstanding candidates for a PE/Health teacher. This position will teach a combination of High school Health/PE, Competitive Sports and Weights.
Essential duties and responsibilities are: to Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning. Plan and implement a program of study following state and district goals/curriculum that meets the individual needs and development of students. Assess and report the performance of students on a regular basis and maintain such records as required by law, district and building policy. Maintains a professional relationship with colleagues. Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning district curriculum and instructional methods, goals and objectives. Serves as a role model to students in the areas of appearance, actions, behaviors and interpersonal interactions with peers. Attends and participates in faculty meetings, committees, school programs, open houses and in service activities as directed. Directs and assigns activities of assigned instructional assistants, volunteers and other paraprofessionals. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students, parents and staff. Perform such other tasks as assigned by Administration. Successful applicant will be familiar with Positive Behavior Support strategies.
Oakland School District is on a 4 day school week. Mon-Thurs, 7:30 am-4:15 pm, 2 Fri’s/month for 6 hrs/day. The PERS 6% is paid by the district and offers a generous comprehensive family medical/dental/vision insurance package.
Applicant must hold an Oregon Teaching License with the proper Health/PE endorsements.
