Oakland School District is accepting applications for an Upper Elementry teacher who will teach Math, Language Arts and Health,along with other duties as assigned by the Principal.  

 

Essential duties and responsibilities: To Provide Math and ELA instruction to (5 & 6th grade) as well as two periods of health with one elective.  Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning and establishing a collaborative and professional relationship with colleagues. Plan and implement a program of study following state and district goals/curriculum that meets the individual needs and development of students. Assess and report the performance of students on a regular basis and maintain such records as required by law, district and building policy. Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning district curriculum and instructional methods, goals, and objectives. Serves as a role model to students in the areas of appearance, actions, behaviors, and interpersonal interactions with peers. Attends and participates in faculty meetings, committees, school programs, open houses and in service activities as directed. Directs and assigns activities of assigned instructional assistants, volunteers, and other paraprofessionals. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students, parents, and staff. Perform such other tasks as assigned by Administration. Successful applicant will be familiar with Positive Behavior Support strategies

 

 

Qualifications include possessing a current Oregon Teaching License with proper endorsements; energetic team player; positive classroom manager,  preference given to those candidates with practical and working knowledge of PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) strategies.

Oakland School District is on a 4 day school week.
 Mon-Thurs, 7:30 am-4:15 pm, 2 Fri’s/month for 6 hrs/day.
